** PLEASE NOTE **
Due to the way that CultureShock is funded and the high number of performers at the festival, performers may be charged entry to the festival.

Whatever’s your bag you can get involved - be it through performing to the festival crowds or working behind the scenes to promote or produce the event. There are so many opportunities for you to get involved in.

Click a link below for more info.

Art Competition

This year CultureShock is running an Art Competition along with everything else. It is open to young artists, in 4 age ranges 13-14/15-16/17-19/20-25 with 4 art categories to enter, Drawing/Painting, Sculpture, Mixed Media and Digital/Photography. All entries will be shown at CultureShock on a rolling slideshow with the top 3 in each age and range and art categories being displayed in the gallery space at CultureShock. Due to the geographical size of North Yorkshire we have set up drop off points around the County (listed below) but would suggest that there is less chance of loss/damage if you drop your work off as close to the deadline date (14/5/10) as possible.

For more details click here.

Theatre / Dance performances

Every year the festival plays host to a Performance Space; this is an opportunity for young people from across the region to showcase their Theatre and Dance talents in front of a wide and diverse audience.

In the past we have had youth theatres and dance companies, youth groups and schools performing in the space which has always resulted in a diverse and eclectic programme. The performances themselves can come in many different guises. Whether they be classics or modern, straight or musical, well known or devised, come one come all say I!
