CultureShock has been run by CYC for 9 years, growing from a 1 day event with 15 workshop and 2 performance spaces and attracting approximately 1300 young people, to a unique 3 day event with over 25 innovative arts workshops on offer, 6 performance spaces with an audience of over 4000 young people.

The festival offers a unique arts experience for young people. Delivering a diverse spectrum of workshops and performances to inspire and challenge participants. The festival will provide a high quality platform for young people to share their talents and achievements with their peers. The event will mark North Yorkshire on the map as a creative, youth focused County filled with talented individuals.
So… What can I expect from CultureShock?
The 2010 event is going to be our BIGGEST festival yet with over 25 arts workshops from the creative to the technical.
Following the success of previous festivals we have been able to attract more artists and bands than ever before, providing an opportunity for you to nurture existing talents or unearth new interests, passions and skills you never knew you had!
Like last year there will be a festival camp site. Youth groups can pitch their tents and soak up the festival atmosphere as we begin the exciting, action packed weekend. Places will be limited - so be quick and book now!
Who are we?
CultureShock Festival is run by Connecting Youth Culture, the youth arts arm of the 4Youth service. We are part of North Yorkshire County Council. The CYC team is a small but committed team of staff all with a passion for the arts, each with a particular area of interest such as music, theatre and visual arts.
